Week Something [HAHA] - Portrait of an Asian Guy
This week, I learned how to shoot against a white seamless! A church friend, Hamilton, was kind enough to volunteer as my subject for the assignment.
P.s. I'm really short. All these were taken with me standing on a wooden box.

Week 5... or 4... or 6...? : Athens.
I drove an hour and a half to Athens (no, not GREECE - Georgia) to shoot a friend from high school and his roommate for my class. Learned a few important lessons:
1. Wear comfortable shoes when you'll be doing a shoot outdoors [or anywhere].
2. Allow yourself enough time when the sun is your only form of light. [The sun fell below the trees WAY faster than I had expected it to, so I had to make do with just a few photos.]
3. It's fun to shoot images you don't think will work; sometimes those images are the best of the shoot!
...That being said, here are my photos for the backlit/stranger assignment and the bouncing light assignment.

This is Kyle, Tad's roommate. I didn't know him before this day. He has a funny laugh.
This is Tad. He wore a fun hat.
...and one out-take that I LOVED...

Natural Light Class, Piedmont Park Version!
We shot each other for experience with natural light outdoors. Ryan was my model and I was hers. Had a fabulous time! Love this school!
My favorite of my shots today. Beautiful, Ryan!
Candid shot.
She got me! I got her!
But I got the last shot, hehe!

Week 4 [or is it 3...?]: Roaring Pipe
This week's assignment was to shoot a product with window lighting. I love the texture on this pipe that Will got while overseas, so I thought it'd be interesting to use as my subject. I set up a "studio" on top of the dryer in our house to shoot the pipe, and was surprised at how well the photos turned out!

Trust me, you DON'T want to eat this candy.
Just a still-life experiment from my Natural Light class this week. Window-lighting, glass "candy", and a pillow with really cool texture. Hope you like it!

Painting with light in the dark of night!
So, like all the students in Peter Hobbs' Intro to Photography classes, I was given the assignment to capture an image with painted light. Lisa, Layne, Julianna and I went galavanting in the scary, dark night around PC... And let me tell you, it was the most fun I've had in a LONG time! Check out a few of my favorites from the experiment:

Week Two: Apples and Oranges
It's been a long week, but the colder weather makes me enjoy being outdoors much more. I've been meaning to get out to Ellijay to get some good apples, so yesterday, Will and I went to Putnam Orchards. The cloudy skies made lighting that seemed to match Will's stormy attitude, and I made him my "model".

I'm a doting mommy of a dorky dog...
I think my favorite model to snap in action is my (and my boyfriend's) Beagle, Apollo. She's constantly cracking us up, and sometimes seems to enjoy being photographed.
Accordingly, I decided to post a few of my favorite shots of my dogger.
The day we adopted her - she was SO tiny!!!
My boyfriend, Will, and Apollo on a break from walking the Silver Comet Trail. She was MUCH smaller then!
So cute...
This was the first time she ever saw snow. She ran around like crazy!
Probably my favorite picture of Apollo alone. Doesn't she look like she's posing?
...Can you tell I'm slightly obsessed? Hehehe...

Week One: The sun shined through!
In the midst of a week of supposed "constant" rain, I suddenly noticed a sunny day outside and thought, "Hey! I'm gonna take advantage of this!" ... And the result follows.
Zack's friend Sara atop the bridge at E.C. Park.
Zack, Sara, and a tree. Hooray for hippies!
All were done without the use of flash or mechanical lighting of any sort. It was a fantastic afternoon, and I enjoyed spending time with an old friend and a new friend.
It's hard to believe this park was completely under water just a few weeks ago! This should give you a good idea of how incredibly flooded it was...
